Dr. Ilyitch Nahiely Tábora
Principal & Founder
As a seasoned, mission-driven executive leader, I bring over 20 years of experience advancing systems-level transformation and community-rooted implementation. My journey is defined by a deep commitment to educational and racial justice, serving as a bridge between legacy institutions and the evolving needs of our communities.
A Bridge Between Vision and Impact
I am a bilingual, equity-driven educator and strategist dedicated to operationalizing equity. By leveraging data, research, and policy innovation, I specialize in translating ambitious visions and complex strategies into measurable, equitable outcomes for K-12 education, public-sector institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
My professional expertise is grounded in:
Systems Transformation: Executive management of youth-serving organizations, advancing equitable pathways for career readiness and college access.
Equitable Policy Design: Institutionalizing district- and city-wide policies that dismantle structural barriers and operationalize racial equity.
Culturally Sustaining Ecosystems: Stewarding initiatives that align institutional strategy with local needs through authentic stakeholder engagement.
Cross-Sector Collaboration: Mobilizing public and philanthropic resources through high-leverage partnerships to scale successful models.
Grounded in Community and Experience
My leadership is rooted in my own lived experience as a former student and parent of Boston Public Schools and a proud Bostonian Latina — Mexican and Honduran — of Zapotec and Mayan descent. This background informs my work as a community organizer and my dedication to honoring the valued ways and expertise in our communities.
I have had the honor of leading significant initiatives, including:
Boston Public Schools: Serving as Assistant Superintendent, where I led the launch of the Community Hub Schools as an equity strategy, created the Office of Social Work, and oversaw more than $12 million in investments.
City of Boston: Serving as Chief of Staff in the Health and Human Services cabinet and Deputy Director of Fair Housing and Equity.
Higher Education & Nonprofits: Leading the TAG Latino Program at UMass Boston for nearly 12 years and currently serving as President of the TAG Association.
I hold a PhD in Educational Leadership from UMass Boston, where my research—“TAG, YOU’RE IT!”: Catalyzing Latino Success Through a Latino-Centered College Access Program in Boston—earned the 2025 Racial Justice Award. This academic rigor, combined with an MSW in Community Organizing, Policy, Planning and Administration and a BA in Sociology from Boston College, anchors the strategic frameworks I bring to every partnership.
I am a native bilingual and biliterate leader in Spanish, adept at building trust and coalitions across diverse immigrant and local communities. I lead with both heart and conviction, striving to cultivate inclusive, high-trust cultures that empower organizations to achieve sustained, meaningful impact.
